COLD LAKE FIRST NATIONS

Cold Lake First Nations is a Denesuline (Chipewyan) Tribe and part of the Dene Nation. Located 300 kilometres northeast of Edmonton, Alberta, this dynamic First Nation has a total membership of over 2,400 members. Approximately 1174 Members live in three of the four reserve land bases, which include, LeGoff, English Bay, Little Cold Lake, and Primrose North.

Our Leadership strives to achieve the vision of our Nation, empowerment; improved quality of life; and self-sufficiency.
It is the mandate of our Council to work for our Nation to ensure that our Treaty Rights are honoured and our members have every opportunity to derive a prosperous livelihood from the resources of our traditional lands.
Our Nation is one which is rich in assets, our people; our language; our culture; our lands, I believe when we work together we can maintain a positive momentum for our future.

Our Nation is strategically poised to benefit from the numerous opportunities in our region. Economic development is supported through the contribution of our CLFN Business Members, which include Nation owned and private enterprises, joint ventures and business partnerships, there are currently 53 member companies. Major Nation business developments include turnkey remote camp, janitorial and medical services; forestry services including value added lumber and log home productions; wireless internet services provision; and gaming and entertainment facilities. Major services are provided by Nation owned corporations including Primco Dene Group of Company’s, Dechen Corporation, Casino Dene, Kinusoo Communications Ltd.
Cold Lake currently has 46 businesses (7 band owned, 7 joint-venture and 32 private).
