Message from the Chairperson

Alberta HUB believes all successful business is built upon even more successful friendships.

Our regional economic development alliance believes in the necessity of encouraging regional collaboration and building relationships that extend beyond our borders. These effective partnerships ensure our region will continue to prosper.

By encouraging investment, pursuing labor force development and municipal collaboration Alberta HUB is able to build on the region’s current levels of activity and work towards enhancing the region’s already enviable quality of life.

Alberta HUB strives to increase knowledge and information exchange between its 29 members and to support the individual and collective initiatives of each. Our region enjoys a diverse economy with a wide range of investment and business opportunities. I encourage you to explore our region and discover its opportunities.

Economic Developers Alberta

Alberta HUB and the Economic Developers Alberta (EDA) have partnered to further promote economic development capacity in Northeast Alberta. The two organizations will be working with one another to provide increased access to resources, enhance channels of economic development communication and promote the necessity of collaborative regional economic development.

One of our shared goals is to create awareness and understanding for the entire spectrum of regional (community) economic development issues. In order to do this, our partnership will focus on providing with a range of valuable information, tools and resources on an ongoing basis. This includes sharing best practices; providing access to established tools that help to grow and maintain a strong, diverse economy; identifying emerging issues and trends in the field; distributing regular and timely information bulletins; and delivering relevant content on our respective website. In addition, our affiliations with other local, national and international groups enable us to access a wealth of other information, resources and professional contacts.

Both Alberta HUB and EDA recognize that successful economic development requires the coordinated, collaborative effort of many individuals and organizations. Access to a library of tools and a wide network of professionals is essential to succeed in the field of economic development.

Both Alberta HUB and EDA have a broad and varied membership and partnership base. The combined stakeholders and partners includes: municipalities; regional organizations; tourism groups; financial institutions; Crown Corporations; businesses; Regional Economic Development Authorities; Community Futures Development Corporations; federal, provincial, regional and municipal government agencies; students; NGO’s; and other groups and individuals that are either involved or interested in economic development.
